Extra creepy because the article mentions that he thinks there are 800 other people in Germany who are also cannibals.

I also wasn't aware that he posted the ad for his victim on a "cannibalism enthusiast" message board.

As far as I know, "Mein Teil" by Rammstein was/is inspired by this incident too.
