I suppose we'll get a real-life example of how ancap policies work or don't work soon enough, although it seems like he might rapidly become bit of a lame duck. Their other branch of government is run by "Front for Victory" (peronists/left-wing populists) and Justicialists (also left-wing populists). So there's probably gonna be a ~~bit~~ huge amount of pushback.

I'm liking some things he's saying, but for instance

and denied that humans are responsible for climate change.

That doesn't sound good.

He uses Cultural Marxism as a label to accuse left-wing politics and progressives of enforcing political correctness.

Nor does that.

he has been critical of the Catholic Church under Pope Francis, whom on different occasions he called a "Jesuit who promotes communism", "an unpresentable and disastrous character", as well as "a fucking communist", a "communist turd", and a "piece of shit", and accused him of "preaching communism to the world" and being "the representative of the evil one on Earth" for promoting the option for the poor, a social justice Catholic doctrine of aid to the underprivileged.

That's almost amusing though.

The dude's a dyed in the wool fascist and an absolute whacko on top of that. Nothing good can come of putting someone like that in charge.

He's libertarian, which should be pretty much the opposite of fascist. But since this is South America what it actually means will be seen only through his actions.

Agree on the whacko.

He explained his opposition in clearer terms, while separating it from the organ trade legalization as "a different discussion", stating: "Obviously, I do not agree with the sale of children."

See? A moderate.

All Fascists I've ever read or met, claim to be Libertarian.

[–] fosforus@sopuli.xyz -3 points 1 year ago (1 children)

That's... weird. But I guess good fortune for you for never meeting a fascist.

[–] TheDankHold@kbin.social 8 points 1 year ago (1 children)

You’re too stubborn to understand their argument which definitely makes you sound intellectually unserious.

Fascists lie about who they are. They dress their autocratic tendencies up in populist rhetoric so people like you take them at their word.

There's a place at Reddit for people like you. It's called r/iamverysmart

But seriously now. Have you ever met an actual fascist?

[–] TheDankHold@kbin.social 0 points 1 year ago (1 children)

If you think the term “intellectually unserious” is “iamverysmart” material then you just validated what I said. It’s a succinct description of your behavior.

The irony of you pretending to get “serious now” then asking the exact same dumbass question I already talked about, explaining how it’s the product of a stubborn mind that doesn’t want to understand the point. You not just disingenuous but seemingly incapable of actually having a serious discussion.

I have met a fascist. Any other irrelevant questions?

That's a very eloquent way of saying nothing more than "nuh-uh you are".

I have met a fascist. Any other irrelevant questions?

What kind of a situation was this? Did you talk to them? How did you know they were fascist?

You seem to be wondering why I pursue this, and I understand that. It's because you're saying that libertarians are fascists, or at least that people who claim to be libertarian are fascists. This baffles me, because libertarians are the exact opposite of fascist. So not knowing you, I have to assume that either you've met a lot of people who don't know what they're talking about, or that you don't know what you are talking about.

Actually what I’m saying is that you’re stupid and it’s why you think middle school vocabulary is “i am very smart” material. Read a book.

It’s also crazy that you’re writing this whole diatribe after I already explained my point two comments ago. Yet you were too concerned with dunking on me to get that apparently.

They were fascist because they expressed support for fascist principles, spoke in fascist talking points, and supported fascist policies promoted by politicians that are fascist or fascist adjacent.

Fascists lie and dress up rhetoric in more approachable formats to get past scrutiny. You think libertarianism is opposite to fascism which is only true if you don’t consider American libertarianism, which is actually a corporatist ideology whose founders outright said that the term “libertarian” was used because it has good connotations and they didn’t want ideological enemies to have that benefit. Fascists are very good at working with corporations as can be seen through BMW, Hugo Boss, and others.

The American vision of a libertarian does not see an issue with hierarchies enforced by non state actors which makes them the perfect camouflage for fascists who similarly don’t want the government to protect everyone from abuse. The true differences only show up when the fascists start lining people up on the wall and at that point the libertarians will either be working with them or on the wall too.

The arrogance to insist I’m the one lacking info is pretty amusing though. You haven’t even been able to comprehend my point after multiple comments.

[–] fosforus@sopuli.xyz 2 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago) (1 children)

Right, so it was you who doesn't know what you're talking about. Have a nice rest of your life, then. I wish your good fortune in not meeting fascists continues.

[–] TheDankHold@kbin.social 0 points 1 year ago

You missed this part I wrote you empty headed, smug, jackass.

They were fascist because they expressed support for fascist principles, spoke in fascist talking points, and supported fascist policies promoted by politicians that are fascist or fascist adjacent.

You seem very concerned with downplaying the existence of fascists. To the point you’re denying my experience out of hand.

The sheer irony of you continuing to try to put down my intelligence when you clearly don’t even have the capacity to read what you’re responding to is rich.

I wish you well on your journey, hopefully it leads to self awareness.
