Artificial intelligence (AI) is intelligence demonstrated by machines, unlike the natural intelligence displayed by humans and animals, which involves consciousness and emotionality. The distinction between the former and the latter categories is often revealed by the acronym chosen.

I have a lot more stock in Ilya Sutskever's assessment than in either Altman's or Nadella's visions. I think the ouster was a good thing for OpenAI specifically and for AI in general.
I am not sure I trust Sutskever's vision of closedness=safety but I say that the ability to do a move in the sake of OpenAI's charter and in spite of huge financial incentives is certainly a strong point that gives me more confidence in them.
I was unsure until the outpouring of unprompted employee support for Altman. That speaks volumes to me. Very few teams I've been part of would have responded to their leader getting ousted that way.
What assessment?
