Think the quali is going to be rough for Mercedes with the temperatures in single digits. I think last year in Hungary they did the extra warm up laps so they might have to do that to get temp into tires but with the balance of turn to straights they might cool down anyway. In race they should get some of that back with a super low downforce setup, but I’m not too optimistic with how Brazil looked (I know that setup was wrong due to only one session but it left me traumatized hehe)
Overall I’m worried this race will feature a lot of crashing…
Problem is the low downforce won't put enough energy to the tires so they'll still struggle with getting temperature. It will peak under cornering and maybe just grain up as the surface grinds away.
