Rabbits seem like a good choice for livestock if you live in a more urban area. Thoughts? (This is my first post on this website. Please let me know if there are any formatting issues. Thank you.)

Idk why I took so long to respond but yeah, I agree. Rabbits seem way more efficient and obviously more quiet than chickens. The biggest issue seems to be the dissonance in people's heads about, quite frankly, cute animals.

In short, it's normal and fine for me to raise chickens for food and I get minimal(ish) backlash for doing so. But rabbits are seen as cuter, and as pets, so people have way more hang ups about eating them.

Straight up my husband was aghast at me suggesting we raise meat rabbits, but not chickens for the same purpose, that's no issue. (and I couldn't begin to explain to friends what I was doing!)
