Has anyone here tried to strap a pedometer to a cat or dog?

Do they need 20k steps?

Update: When I tried to strap my watch to his collar he licked my hand then laid on top of it

Result: Not impressed

I put my fitbit on my dog once, and can confidently say that they lounge around doing nothing for most of the day.

As far as I know we only have an arbitrary non-scientific step goal made up for people at this stage. In terms of exercise requirements this would vary considerably between different breeds.
