Yeah, I worked at an Irish bar for a while and we had a couple guys from Donegal that would go in on drunk college kids about it. Really the only anecdotes I have on the situation, though.

Donegal is a border county, likely to be closer to home. Personally it took me being in Chicago and someone talking about it for it to click with me, I just thought you guys had weird names for things
