Enough Musk Spam

2204 readers
155 users here now

For those that have had enough of the Elon Musk worship online.

No flaming, baiting, etc. This community is intended for those opposed to the influx of Elon Musk-related advertising online. Coming here to defend Musk or his companies will not get you banned, but it likely will result in downvotes. Please use the reporting feature if you see a rule violation.

Opinions from all sides of the political spectrum are welcome here. However, we kindly ask that off-topic political discussion be kept to a minimum, so as to focus on the goal of this sub. This community is minimally moderated, so discussion and the power of upvotes/downvotes are allowed, provided lemmy.world rules are not broken.

Post links to instances of obvious Elon Musk fanboy brigading in default subreddits, lemmy/kbin communities/instances, astroturfing from Tesla/SpaceX/etc., or any articles critical of Musk, his ideas, unrealistic promises and timelines, or the working conditions at his companies.

Tesla-specific discussion can be posted here as well as our sister community /c/RealTesla.

I still love that there's a community that entirely dedicated to talking about how much they don't want to talk about that dipshit.

The community was meant to divert the musk spam so other communities could be free of musk spam. Unfortunately, a lot of people don't get this and still post anything related to musk on c/technology.

But this is the Fediverse.

Unless all the instances defederated from that community, it would just spam the content everywhere.

no but users who don't want to see posts about Elon could block that community and still see other technology posts

That assumes you're viewing the "all" feed. The intended way to use the site is to subscribe to the communities you want to see and use the subscribed feed.

...except the communities are still regularly changing and there's so much fragmentation that I haven't yet bothered to switch to this approach here, despite the fact I never used to view the Reddit equivalents (all/popular).

I can't stop thinking about wanting to never think about him again.
