I think if Ricciardo had not gotten the injury and had been able to prove himself he would have gotten it already. The second one is an if that remains to be seen though, but his sim sessions seemed to be on point.
And deny themselves the chance for WDC front row lockout? No way. Unless you mean "Ricciardo would have already been confirmed for next season".
I actually like Perez. I like Danny too, but I don't have that much confidence in his skills. I only started watching F1 in 2021 so I've only seen him with his struggles at McLaren.
But since seeing Lawson in that AT, my stock in Perez has dropped. Because I could see one of the AT drivers moving up to RB, and then Lawson moving into a permanent AT seat.
That only all happens if an RB seat opens up, obviously. And Max certainly ain't going anywhere. Perez should absolutely finish this season, since he's 2nd in the WDC (assuming he maintains that). But beyond this season...well maybe he's amenable to a buy out?
