I don’t understand what you’re getting at. Are you saying she’s being tested because she’s a woman and AM is trying to look inclusive? Or are you saying AM is taking a risk by testing an unproven driver?

I'm saying the only reason this test session is being discussed is because they put a girl in the car.

She's not unproven, that's what the lower formulas are for! Three years in Formula W, best finish 9th, on merit she shouldn't be anywhere near a formula 1 car.

I'd think if they put a guy into the car with the same career as her, we'd also talk about it because it is so unusual.

Usually you have F2, F3, IndyCar drivers at F1 tests and that's it.

Yet she is. Maybe AM knows more about her than you.

Mate I get what you're trying to get at, but it ain't there

I'm sorry, but Calderon dominated the W-series, but did not get any resemblance of succes in F2 before that, and ended up 29th in IndyCar in 2022.

Why do you think a driver who did not even finish high in the same W-series somehow has what it takes to make it in F1.

I believe it was Tost who once said that F1 is by definition not discriminatory. Teams spend tens of millions to find fractions of a second per lap. If putting a woman behind the wheel would help, they would have done it in a heartbeat. And as soon as there is someone who is faster, F1 wants that person, regardless of gender or race or whatever.
