If they really supported them, they’d stop buying Russian oil.

Not really. They are doing it with the tacit (but only in private) approval of the west.

1: Russia is selling well below production cost. So they pump at a loss and they are still using the equipment,

2: Russia rely (well, relied) on foreign companies for parts and to perform maintenance on their oil fields. The longer this goes on, the more shit breaks, slowly crippling the Russian oil industry.

3:Russia has no real way of converting the Indian Rupees they are getting paid for the oil into Rubles and spending it on anything

4: The west is buying refined oil products from india. India makes a nice profit and the world gets cheap oil without the money going to Russia.

  1. Russia selling oil to India means India isn't buying as much oil elsewhere, reducing demand on other producers and keeping oil prices lower.
