I remember in the 70s the London bus schedules had a disclaimer on them that said something like "just because we publish this schedule doesn't mean that the buses will follow it, or that they will run at all."

We got proof of that when the bus driver of the last bus of the night decided that his shift was over and kicked everyone off the bus and went home half way through the route, leaving us stranded miles from our destination.
