Have the baltics started hoarding arms in preparation for a possible invasion?

[–] Ulara@sopuli.xyz 11 points 1 year ago (1 children)

They have increased arms spending several times, as soon as they understood what the 2014 annexation of Crimea portends to them: https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2016-10-19/baltics-states-have-doubled-arms-spending-since-putin-s-advance Now they prudently give a lot of arms to Ukraine, to prevent any possibility of Ruscist success.

Also why anything we can send to Ukraine now saves more lives and treasure down the road.

Not one of the Baltic nations, but Poland has placed orders for enough modern tanks to build the biggest tank fleet in Europe outside of Russia. That's only the brand new orders too, before even looking at the current inventory

Looking at how badly Russia’s getting wrecked at the moment, I wouldn’t be surprised if their current inventory would be enough to steamroll Russia.

Finland has been doing that since WW2 pretty much.
