in the idea of a social hierarchy, alphas are at the top, betas below them, sometimes people have names for those below those

sigmas try to be outside of the hierarchy, in a league of their own for better or worse

some of the memes take like motivational advice and flip it backwards so that it might be humourously destructive

there was a millionaire or sigma grindset subreddit that got banned, very disappointed to see

edit: "sigma rule #8585858 go to an interview or date and smash the other person's phone then complain about how poor they are so you get the job or date because they're so embarassed about how they look"

Thanks for the explanation. I know about the alpha/beta, but sigma seems like a more recent addition to the lore.
