More serious politics should go in !uk_politics@feddit.uk.

Posts should be related to UK-centric news, and should be either a link to a reputable source, or a text post on this community.
Opinion pieces are also allowed, provided they are not misleading/misrepresented/drivel, and have proper sources.
If you think "reputable news source" needs some definition, by all means start a meta thread.
Posts should be manually submitted, not by bot. Link titles should not be editorialised.
Disappointing comments will generally be left to fester in ratio, outright horrible comments will be removed.
Message the mods if you feel something really should be removed, or if a user seems to have a pattern of awful comments.

The people that will be affected most are the front line staff who is already working on minimum wages....not the multinational corp
They won't, they are encouraged to let the shoplifters shoplift, because it's just collateral.
In turn the company will seize operations in that area and the cashiers will lose their jobs.
Great job.
You think Guess is going to let their flagship London store go over some shoplifting?
Yes, at enough volume in theft they will just close the shop.
You just advocated for it. If you dont want it becoming the norm, why would you recommend people to do it. And yes. They will close even the biggest store, if the lost revenue rises high enough.
Especially if it becomes the norm and morally accepted.

So what's this?
I’m not Banksy and if you think they have the reach to cause a small army to financially ruin the flagship store of a multinational company located in one of the most surveilled cities in the world than you have a very outsized opinion of their social influence.
Did i link to a Banksy tweet or to one of you "theft is morally okay"-idiots who don't understand the simple concept of "if lose more money than calculated > close shop and no more lose money" which is a result of "person on internet said steal is okay because of "anti-capitalism" and "it's only big bad business" > me steal"
Either go with the original argument, that theft is morally okay and live with the consequence of stores closing because of loss prevention or get real and just don't steal.
Oh, good argument. Lemme stoop to your level.
Nuh uhhhhhhh
If the company is paying you minimum wage you really struggle to give a shit about people stealing from them
