As a person using 1Password and Bitwarden (just bringing that up as people always recommend Bitwarden in such threads), I personally do find 1Password much better, cleaner, easier. The only downside for me is the open source part, however personally I cannot check that anyway.
For me personally regarding Proton Pass <-> 1Password, there are yet too many features missing and I pefer the UI of 1Password as well, especially with nowadays smartphone display sizes and not having to use both hands to search an item.
What is really cool at Proton Pass is the integrated alias feature.
