Checked out NIGHT AMBUSH last night. (Original title, ILL MET BY MOONLIGHT.) Didn't care for it at all. Considered a lesser Powell/Pressburger--Powell himself didn't like the film. "Watching the movie again years later, Powell complained that he "was surprised by how bad the film was..."
I don't have TCM, but I hope I'll get an opportunity to hear Paul's comments about his selections.
I'm an hour into HIS KIND OF WOMAN, but I've never been dazzled by Mitchum or Russell, unfortunately, so I'm struggling a bit with that one as well. ๐
As much as I admire PTA's creative output, many of his recommendations have left me scratching my head. ๐คทโโ๏ธ
[edit] For the record, I have seen and enjoyed DINER and SWEET SMELL.
