There is, but you have to convince people to follow you around like lost puppies before you get to decide whether they live or die. D&D logic π
It's not DnD logic, you can revivify a mosnter if you want to, although it only works if they died a minute ago max, and you can use another spell to make that last longer. Also, revivify costs diamond dust. It's BG3 logic.
I don't really know D&D rules... As I've never played D&D before, but it did feel kinda strange to be holding a scroll that can revive people an be to not be able to use it... To revive people
