Well - it’s here! The first two episodes are on Disney+

Keen to hear what everyone’s thoughts are. Needless to say, there will be lots of spoilers in this discussion.

I really liked it. Felt like a solid continuation of Rebels, a bit slow at times, but overall a solid setup for what could be a very interesting and exciting series.

I feel like we should be able to guess the identity of the masked third Sith-esque villain. Don’t think it’s a fallen Ezra (too boring a plot line) but the stance and mannerisms seemed very familiar…

Also - great to see Kevin Kiner doing the music! Nice callback to some Rebels motifs here and there.

I would’ve liked to see Vanessa Marshall as Hera, I felt her voice was so uniquely matched. This Hera seems way too girly for a maternal older Hera. And where is her son?

Hoping for a Freddie Prinze Jr cameo.

Dave Filoni must be so happy to finally tell this story. Can’t wait to see what comes next!

I've read the comics, but they don't really go back that far. High republic is the 1000 odd years leading up to Phantom Menace.

Ah. I misinterpreted your second point. I never read the stuff about the Tho Yor, so I was assuming it was High Republic stuff but I searched it and saw it’s Legends material

Edit: additionally, maybe they are going to introduce and retcon the Rakata as being from this new Galaxy originally? They’ve already talked about them in either Mando or Andor, I can’t remember.

The Tho Yor are mysterious pyramid ships that visited loads of planets in the distant past of the universe and telepathicly attracted force sensitves to board them then dropped them all off on Typhon where the Je'daii order developed before spreading back into the galaxy.

The Rakata tried to invade their system once while they had the Infinite Empire, but got trounced and introduced the Je'Daii to Light Sabre tech.

All this stuff is in the three Dawn of the Jedi minis that Dark Horse put out, they're on Marvels Unlimited app these days.

I assume the Rakata are still canon as they're remaking KOTOR and they're a huge part of that games plot.
