So.. I used to own a DS lite back in the day.. but it broke in my backpack back in my 20’s. I still own my old Pokémon games (heart gold and leaf green) and was hoping to get back into them.

DS lite went for $129 in the US back when they came out in 2006.. adjusted for inflation that’s about $195.

I guess I’m wondering if anyone has any experience buying any of these refurbs I’m seeing online.

Are these 20 year old consuls worth $160 ?

I already tried asking this question on the Nintendo sub Reddit, and no one cared…

Be aware you can play DS games on the "new 3DS" as well which is going for about $100, which is cheaper than that.

However, to answer your question more directly, I found one available here https://www.amazon.co.uk/Nintendo-DS-Handheld-Console-Black/dp/B000FTQR8K in stock for £60. It was one of the first google results I found for "ds lite price".

That's a great point, the DS lite is a beautifully made console and it also plays GBA games really nicely as well (literally has a gba built into it) but with any of the 2ds/3ds line you can quite easily soft mod them and carry around a huge games library, also battery life and charging the device is better than the DS lite

Thanks for the response.

Yeah.. the newer 3DS could play my DS Pokémon game, but not my game boy advance Pokémon game. And you only get dongle trade on a DS lite. Thanks for the link. That’s the lowest price I’ve seen so far. I might just go with that one.
