Mabuhay at maligayang pag-alis sa Lemmy! ✈️

An abandoned community for the Philippines and all things Filipino! 🇵🇭

Started out as a Reddit alternative during the blackout from Jun 12-21, 2023 with over 1k members in just a few days. Fizzled faster than the "I Didn't Do It" kid after a month until it became the internet's Centralia in less than a year.

Same energy sa mga nagsasabi na "Di daw maganda na horror movie kasi konti lang yung jumpscare or not gory enough" on any good movie that doesn't rely too much on those things hahaha.

Buti ka pa you had the patience to explain, I wouldn't hahaha.

Kailangan natin iexplain sa mga bata, lalo na si Sara may hawak sa education. Pinapanood ko din sa kanya yung YouTube channel na The Take para matuto magbasa ng mga movies at TV series. Pati yung Nerdwriter about the Avengers as defenders of the status quo, pinanood ko din sa kanya. Di naman need tayo mag explain lahat.

I tend to watch horror pictures, not to scare myself. Most jump scares in films are too annoying. Talk To Me and Evil Dead Rise are recent horror pictures I watched in theaters and genuinely creep me throughout.

Sometimes, genre films can be tiresome, and ending up watching some B-action and obscure indie films.

I preferred slow-burn, anxiety-inducing horror films. Minsan kasi parang ang cheap ng pelikula na nag rerely lang sa jumpscares amd gory scenes. I still enjoy jumpscare scenes naman.

genre films can be tiresome

Yeah, I kinda stopped watching horror for a while mainly because I live alone hahaha. I watch more comedies nowadays, specifically screwball comedies like His Girl Friday and most Cary Grant movies.

slow-burn

Matic boring agad yan sa mainstream, haha.

anxiety-inducing

Psychological horror films are underrated af. Chris Nolan, for the first time, attempted this with Oppenheimer, and damn... the entire third act.
