I ran a quick search in this community and couldn't find anything on this topic.

I'm gaming on linux, with a mix of official and alternatively-sourced games. I've recently noticed that GOG has an OS: Linux filter and I found some titles that I could like in that list.

I tried the sites listed in the megathread, and I did not find a place where I could get these linux versions.

Has any of you looked for the native linux versions of GOG games [edit: pirated versions] and found a good place for them ?

Clarification edit (some responses helped me realize my post is ambiguous) :

  • I'm not looking for linux-native game lists, I've got that already
  • I'm not looking for legitimate platforms on which to buy linux-native games, I've got that already
  • Playing games using proton is playing with a compatibility layer, not playing native
  • I'm looking for unofficial ways to acquire linux-native games, and I'm aware these are quite rare for resons well stated in some comments

Resources already outlined :

  • 1337x with the linux keyword -thanks to @Aram1s
  • rutracker.org thanks to @beetroid
  • johncena141's torrents thanks to @kaya

Steam has a ton of native Linux games. Just sort the store by Linux. Protondb also extensively lists native games.

Thanks for your answer, but I'm really not interested in buying on Steam. I should have been more precise : I can easily find linux-native games lists, but I'm having trouble finding them on the high seas. I agree with @Aram1s@lemm.ee's explanation of why they are not very present.

Despite being proud to still fly the Jolly Roger for most media I have to say that for the Linux gamer it's nearly as cost effective just to put Steam games on your wishlist and wait for the sale notification. Lots of great games can be had for single dollars, you get support, patches, online play etc. so it's not worth the effort to plunder them.

I found honestly it's rare that a Steam game has issues on Linux these days and if it does, just refund it and get your $5 back. Otherwise as mentioned they are very hard to find.

Thanks for your reply and insight.

My Steam-avoidance/aversion is not about compatibility but more about DRM/vendor lock-in. When I buy games, I usually by them at GOG or any other "you own the game you bought" provider.

Also, when it's about inde games, I have not problem buying them - I easily support projects this way or via crowdfunding. The games I'm interest in Jolly Rogering, as you put it, are bigger games - I want to play them a bit before spending 70€ for the whole thing + expansions package.

Ahh, sorry for misunderstanding. Sometimes I forget what community I am commenting in.

If you do find a game you really enjoy, do think of supporting the developer by buying a copy if you can afford it 😊

Tha'ts actually what I do. But there are some games I'm not sure I'll enjoy and they don't have a free demo to test, so I'm trying them on the seas. Also, 10+ yo games that are still 15,20, sometimes 30€ are not going to get my money, even when much cheaper and on sale, because come on.
