But I don't want to play this game.
Ok. I'm just pointing out that it's a "true" RPG, so if you want to play it as a Kung Fu comedy, you can.
To be absolutely honest, the major holdup for me is the camera angle. It makes the game look like yet another RTS or DOTA/League clone, and I got tired of those kind of games in the 90s.
I know that the younger generation is into games with a "retro" look (and I'm proud of them for appreciating the old school), but it just isn't for me. I prefer games with pretty graphics, a good story, and a first or 3rd person camera. I grew up in an era where bad graphics was the norm and you just had to put up with them, so I was always looking forward to the latest and greatest advancement. Younger people don't have that problem, so they don't mind playing games that look dated so long as they're fun. Not my style.
I don't think it's a generational thing, just preference. I'm also old enough to have grown up with potato graphics, and after the Xbox 360 era, I stopped caring about graphics much, I just like solid gameplay. Different strokes for different folks.
FWIW Baldur's Gate III is a very pretty game, despite the overhead camera.
That's fair. I just don't understand why they can't do a game like this with a 3rd person camera. Don't understand why it wouldn't work.
I'm no spring chicken myself. I started gaming on the Atari VCS, so I'm no stranger to bad graphics.
As for a third person camera, I've not actually played the game yet, but it is apparently possible to pay through the game in third person mode.
