@thegiddystitcher oh crap I’m sorry about the issue! I didn’t realize the group was not on mastodon, should I make a Lemmy account to interact with the group?
I mean we'd definitely welcome you over here too! But in theory it shouldn't be necessary since we can cross-post like this, there's just a few wrinkles need ironing out of the process 😄
@thegiddystitcher gotcha!! I’m going to stay on this account then 😭 I had already a lot of trouble to set it up on my phone lmao, I’m not the best with social media apps
Fyi then just to save you doing it by accident, if you toot on Mastodon and you tag @lemmy_stitch it'll create a new post on our side too, using the first line of your toot as the title. You can do the same with any Lemmy community if you find the equivalent group to tag.
Example: See my toot here https://artisan.chat/@thegiddystitcher/110792247417772698 that also turned into this Lemmy thread here https://lemm.ee/post/2230410.
If you tag the group in a reply it doesn't do it, just in top-level toots. And the first image from your toot will show up on Lemmy too, just not any extra images or (as we've just seen and will hopefully be fixed at some point) images in further replies. It's far from seamless but still pretty cool that we can do this at all!
@thegiddystitcher Oooh that’s so neat!! The Lemmy thread looks like a subreddit, it’s so pretty and easy to read 😭 I thought I was tagging a group on another instance like tagging a curator from an art Fediverse instance but I hadn’t realized the layout was not the same. Thank you v much for the insight 🧡
