Agitators from the Kuki-Zo community suspect that this could be an attempt to bring in ‘radical’ Meiteis disguised as State forces into Moreh, while police have called such allegations ‘misleading’

Today is the 3rd continuous day of this protest/blockade by Kuki-Zo women. The women have stayed on the highway even at night, singing prayers.

They have good reason to fear & mistrust the convoy of Manipur police/ commandos. Since the beginning of the ethnic & communal violence, the Meitei-majority Manipur police & commandos have allowed members of the violent Meitei groups Meitei Leepun & Arambai Tenggol to wear police/ commando uniforms & to travel on police/ commando vehicles & have provided them with protection so they can commit their barbaric violence on Kukis. This is well-documented and videos of the same have been widely shared on SM. Biren Singh's BJP-led state govt is aware, so are senior police officals. IB also must be aware so must the Modi government, yet they refuse to step in & stop it. This is a clear example of state complicity in the violence against minority Kukis and one more reason to call the ongoing violence a genocide.

Since Manipur police/ commandos have not been neutral and support Meitei in committing ethnic & communal violence, Kukis have lost trust in them and only allow neutral Assam Rifles & BSF into their villages.
