At a meeting with African leaders, Russian dictator Vladimir Putin has said that Russia withdrew its army from Kyiv last year because it was ?asked to do so to create conditions? for signing a peace treaty.

They dropped in some special units via parachute. I don't think they're vehicles ever made it to Kyiv. The original plan was to just capture Zelenskyy and force him to give Ukraine to Russia. But they held on that first night and successfully blocked the follow up iron driving there.
