Just be aware of the power outlet on the floor. A quick spill with your nutrient solution probably won't kill you (because of mandatory safety stuff), but certainly your electronic devices down there. The dissolved minerals will corrode everything in hours!
You know what they say about temporary solutions? I don't like it there either, but dont really have a space for the waterpump or the airbubler in the Tomato.
While filling the tanks i make sure to put the bar away/up and turn it off. Just to be safe.
It may be worth getting a weatherproof electrical box. You can get ones designed to just hold an extension lead, and that should provide enough safety without making it too cumbersome
