Since handwashing uses more water than dishwashers your laziness is actually beneficial
That's not laziness at all, they are simply saying that if there isn't room in the dishwasher it has to wait until the next load, which is perfectly reasonable.
If my ex-wife thought like you then maybe we'd still be together.
