Good old corolla lol

Edit: it's a Mazda 6, I got it confused with another car I was looking at.

Corollas are great....but isn't that a Mazda key?

[–] Gibsonhasafluffybutt@aussie.zone 6 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago) (3 children)

I'm so fucking dumb lol

It's a Mazda 6. I got them confused because I was looking at a corolla as well πŸ˜‘

now patiently waiting for stories where you're in the carpark, standing in front of a random corolla wondering why nothing's beeping heh.

It won't be long man lol

Maybe I'll get an airtag πŸ€”

Nah it's not. Only 2 previous owners as well which is nice.

[–] TinyBreak@aussie.zone 5 points 1 day ago (1 children)

thank Christ. Still, find yourself a good mechanic. Dont take it to mazda for anything they are useless. Also there is a carplay upgrade you can do if its the current gen and doesnt already have it. LOL, wait, you didnt buy it from Hamish did you?

[–] Gibsonhasafluffybutt@aussie.zone 2 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Man that upgrade is fucking awesome!!! I was going to buy a reverse camera and screen anyway. Even better if it comes with all the extra stuff.

And nah, not Hamish :)

yeah the current gen infotainment at factory was pretty crappy tbh. I think mazda charge like 600 bucks for it sadly.

Honestly man, it's worth it. If they'll do the part and installation for 600 that'd be decent.

Mazda 6 is solid as. Nice and comfy, with enough guts to overtake people that like to do 20 under on the freeway.

Enjoy your ride mate :)

I nearly bought one in 2007. It was between a Mazda 6 and a Pulsar. In the end, I went with the Pulsar because it was $2k cheaper, and all other things about the cars were pretty equal.

My life circumstances changed over the next decade (had a family), and the Pulsar was a bit small for us by the end. I ended up wishing I'd gone with the Mazda.

I think you made the right choice.

[–] TinyBreak@aussie.zone 1 points 1 day ago (1 children)

SOME of them are. I have a lot of thoughts about the diesels.

[–] MeanElevator@aussie.zone 1 points 1 day ago (1 children)

I'm not a huge fan of smallish diesel cars, unless they're European cars.

Mazdas overall are solid cars, quality and reliability wise.

[–] TinyBreak@aussie.zone 1 points 1 day ago (1 children)

I can say positive things about Korean diesels. Mazda service charged me 2.5k for a diesel fuel system test that never found a fault. They ultimately found the fault by finally taking my suggestion and plugging in a multi-meter and finding a short. they still charged me the 2.5k. theres a particular word that comes to mind, and it rhymes with runts.

[–] MeanElevator@aussie.zone 2 points 1 day ago (1 children)

I would have refused to pay at that point. 2.5k to not find something is ridiculous.

[–] TinyBreak@aussie.zone 2 points 1 day ago

yeah we tried to get out of it, sadly couldnt

Yessssss!!!!!! πŸ‘

[–] TinyBreak@aussie.zone 4 points 1 day ago (1 children)

smart choice! Everyone loves to bag them, but never heard a complaint from someone who actually owns one. only know people who regret selling them.

[–] Gibsonhasafluffybutt@aussie.zone 3 points 1 day ago (1 children)

I reckon it should last a while. Work had the novated lease thing, but fuck that.

[–] TinyBreak@aussie.zone 4 points 1 day ago (2 children)

Yeaaaaah nah, not worth it unless you’re making serious coin. And sadly I don’t think a Corolla will last just a while…I think your stuck with it till the heat death of the universe. They don’t die.

[–] Nath@aussie.zone 4 points 1 day ago

Or you drive serious km. It's designed for people who need a car for their job.

You're right, you need to be near the ceiling of your possible salary before doing novation.
