minimalism
About us
An open, user owned community dedicated to the philosophy of minimalism and the minimalist way of life. All types of posts are allowed, as long as they are relevant to the topic of minimalism.
Rules
1. Be honest with yourself and others.
The goal is to develop yourself personally and as a community. Seriously, if you’re not honest with yourself and pretend to be someone else, you’re not going anywhere. The first step to progression is acceptance, isn’t it?
2. Be polite to others and respects each others opinions.
Your freedom ends where somebody else's begins. Remember that there are people that may see things differently than you.
3. Keep it theme-oriented, up to date and relevant.
In general, all types of contributions are allowed, but the relevance to this community must always be evident and presented openly by the contributor. Posts that do not meet these requirements will be removed after a public warning.
4. Use self-moderation measures first before reporting.
This community is fundamentally built upon freedom of speech. Since everyone understands minimalism differently and we do not want to exclude any kind of content a priori, we appeal to the individual users to block/mute posts or users who do not meet their requirements. Please bear this in mind when filing a report

I'd be happy to mod. Do you have an application form? To give you a general idea, I've moderated subs before, but I don't have any 1m+ mod experience.
Also, if anyone wants to mod other backpacking/minimalism related subs please hmu! I'd love to set some up but I can't moderate multiple subs by myself, so h e l p.
I think in the beginning, as long as we arent that big its ok to not have something like an application form. Currently our goal is to populate tgis sub by starting posting meaningful info and spreading the word so that people can find us.
Hey, I made you a mod. But please remember that this place is relying on the decisions of the users. Please dont use your mod tag to post personal things and behold from any from any attempt to use your mod rights to pursue personal interests or opinions. This is an adult community and users do not need to be patronised. Thank you for the cooperation.
Alright....
Do you have a mod gc or something?
not really. Didnt have time. But please feel free to make some propositions. At the moment this community is rather small so until the 1 of july we can sortthings out.
I've always run mod chats on discord, so that would be my suggestion. Open to others though.
Sorry but I wont be a part of it then. I dont have discord and have serious concerns about using it. I can setup a matix, xmpp, irc, or simplex group chat tho.
OK, well what does @miked use?
Personally I would go with matrix: It's similar to discord but decentralized and open source.
