A Miami-Dade elections worker was fired after a sealed bin and a sealed bag of ballots fell out of their truck and were discovered on the side of the road, according to the county's elections department.

The elections department called it a case of human error. The worker forgot to lock the back of the truck and as they drove off, one sealed bin and one sealed bag fell out, containing already voted ballots from early voting.

The sealed containers with the ballots inside had already been scanned and tabulated at the South Dade Regional Library's early voting site on Monday, according to the Miami Herald.

A driver spotted the bin and bag with the ballots near 211 Street and the Turnpike Extension in Cutler Bay, according to a video posted by OnlyInDade.

This just maybe the craziest election I have experienced in my life.

Depending on who wins this may be the craziest and last.

Super bleak, read at your own riskIf Trump wins it won't be the last election. Elections will become increasingly more of a sham than they already are, but the legitimacy propaganda is useful to Republicans. The electoral college will become more powerful, his supporters will throw out more ballots from poor districts, and the Supreme Court will keep overriding results. All this will be done while gaslighting the population about how they're fixing democracy.

But this election, you get your choice of toppings!

[–] bran_buckler@lemmy.world 9 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)
[–] TransplantedSconie@lemm.ee 11 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

The toppings are loaded with potassium benzoate.

But injecting the potassium benzoate cures COVID.

[–] nilloc@discuss.tchncs.de 4 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

That’s bad too, and you should feel bad.

[–] pinkystew@reddthat.com 2 points 2 weeks ago

You guys are getting topped? I can't even get a booty call

2000 was still worse, as presidential elections go. The race wasn't decided until December 12, 2000, only after the Brooks Bros Riot, and SCOTUS basically saying "Stop counting, Bush wins."

This is when I first started to hate ted cruz and was introduced to three of the current justices

Holy shit, how did I not know this before.

[–] barsquid@lemmy.world 11 points 2 weeks ago (2 children)

The 2000 election was decided illegally. Dems should have done a nationwide French-style full protest with complete work stoppage and vandalism.

[–] explodicle@sh.itjust.works 5 points 2 weeks ago

The failure of FPTP was laid bare for all to see. Anyone who doesn't support RCV after that is either a fool or already bought.

American's haven't properly defended their freedom since the 1700's.

[–] AmbiguousProps@lemmy.today 11 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Well, December 12, 2024 hasn't happened yet. There's always a chance they get involved again

[–] jaybone@lemmy.world 3 points 2 weeks ago

And who would they side with this time I wonder 🤔

[–] LillyPip@lemmy.ca 10 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Roger Stone was behind that madness, as well as J6 – he was so confident in their J6 plans, he had a legitimate documentary team following him that day as they did their ‘war room’ fuckery at the Willard hotel, and some of their footage was used at the J6 congressional hearings.

And good news, everybody! Stone is still walking free and doing more of the same fuckery as we speak! He’s still, to this day, a main operative behind trump’s campaign. Will be wild!

[–] Nougat@fedia.io 12 points 2 weeks ago

Roger Stone was convicted of his fuckery around congressional inquiries in 2020, seven felonies, and Trump commuted his sentence in July 2020.

Then in December 2020, Trump pardoned Stone, along with Manafort and Charles Kushner (father of Jared Kushner).

I'm not sure how it's very cool and very legal to be able to pardon people who did crimes for you, but there you have it.
