Welcome to the discussion of US Politics!

Rules:

  1. Post only links to articles, Title must fairly describe link contents. If your title differs from the site’s, it should only be to add context or be more descriptive. Do not post entire articles in the body or in the comments.

Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.

Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.
  3. No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Report them, block them, and live a happier life than they do. We see too many slapfights that boil down to "Mom! He's bugging me!" and "I'm not touching you!" Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
  4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
  5. No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in a ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be banned without warning

We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules, to use critical thinking when reading, posting or commenting. Users that post off-topic spam, advocate violence, have multiple comments or posts removed, weaponize reports or violate the code of conduct will be banned.

All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

That's all the rules!

I know you're probably just trolling, so it doesn't matter what I say. But I'll keep it up anyway, for the slim chance you are just a closed minded child that has been indoctrinated and isn't actually thinking about anything they are saying, just reacting and spewing whatever comes to mind.

The real world isn't about what you want to happen in an ideal world. It's about what will actually happen as a result of your actions. There very much is worse genocide, genocide of more types of people at once, in more places at once, and to a worse scale for people already being genocided. Please don't let Trump get what he wants.

Yes, of course everyone decent wants what you want... we're not idiots. But we also can see that there is no path to it. And that trying to get it will just lead to losing the chance to have 90% of what we want instead.

There is no black and white choice in real life, which can be hard to accept for people stuck on black and white thinking(which is actually alot of people, like 10% or so). Trying to make decisions as though something must be perfect to be a good choice, is going to lead to having huge problems because this isn't the only situation where trying to pick the perfect choice just leads to getting a way worse result. Usually, the consequences will come in the form of waiting and doing nothing because a perfect choice never presents itself. But sometimes people prey on a black and white mentality to falsely present a "perfect" choice, knowing some percentage of the population will have no choice but to fall for it.

Sometimes, third-party candidates are even funded by the other side in order to do this very thing for something as important as an election. So they very well know that it has an effect, if people like that are willing to actually spend money they could otherwise be hoarding.

I'm sorry, child. I'm not voting for genocide.

Well, good luck. Obviously, I hope your perfect candidate gets in, and it doesn't just allow Trump in like I think it would. I would be very happy if you were right and I was wrong.

But I forsee third party candidates getting 10% of the vote, and those votes coming primarily from Kamala, and then having to live with Trump. Kamala clearly isn't perfect. No one thinks she is, politics are just broken enough that it doesn't play out the way you clearly want it to. No matter what. You want third party, make sure they are in a position where they are polling decently before it is too late, or no one will waste their vote on them.

I'm sorry, child, I'm not voting for genocide. That is humanity's red line. If you want to be the same as a Nazi and gleefully or even sorrowfully vote for genocide, that's on you. History treats the Nazis that voted out of fear the same as those that voted out of pride.
