Why? Why not?

I don't care about the ranks themselves, but I am tempted to give it a go and see if it results in better matchmaking than standard play.

Yes and if it doesn't solve the issue of wildly varying teammates I will drop the game sadly.

TBF the matchmaking system is WIP in general.

They likely won't be completely nailing it for a good while yet.

Before ranked mode it seemed not to be working at all to me anymore. So yea as long there is progress I am fine.
