Wdym "go before"? We can walk and chew gum. Human needs don't need to be in conflict with each other. Also, the distinction between economic issues and social issues seems completely arbitrary imo. The economy is a social issue.
This is class reductionism. Bigotry doesn't magically disappear when the economic motives for it do unfortunately. It is worth working on the bigotry in our society while working towards revolution. Besides, bigotry can be a huge obstacle to party organization
Looking back yeah that was stupid, any good theory on class and race would be appreciated :3
(Im still reading theory)
No worries comrade! We all have growing to do. Unfortunately I personally have not read much queer theory but I am currently reading Stonewall by Martin Duberman and while I don't believe he is explicitly marxist its a very solid covering of the struggle for gay rights in America that can add a lot of historical context to your repertoire.
Also don't feel any shame, class reductionism is a trap many marxist fall into. Especially early in our learning when we are the most passionate and the least informed. None of us are free until all of us our free; it's our solidarity in eschothers unique struggles that brings us strength.
Thanks :3
