He was not given a fine, it was suspended for 12 months. He has essentially escaped consequence, which is just so disappointingly unsurprising for Western Australia.

A girl (American) I gamed with who married an Aussie, described Australia as a lot like America but more racist. Granted, that was 10yrs ago. So, maybe?

It seems like country's that were/are heavily influenced by American culture are more racist than ones that aren't. I wouldn't be surprised if that was wrong though, humanity as a whole is pretty xenophobic
