During a walk, my sister took a photo of squirrels with their tails matted and knotted together. I’ve heard of rat kings, but would this be considered a squirrel king?

Reading the wiki page, at least it seems people are very successful at untangling Squirrel Kings.
There might be some form of survivorship bias in there. We aren't documenting the instances we aren't discovering.
Definitely, but it seems the ones we do find we are generally able to help. I'm sure the ones we do not find pretty much just die.
