The Cato Institute is an American libertarian think tank headquartered in Washington, D.C. It was founded in 1977 by Ed Crane, Murray Rothbard, and Charles Koch, chairman of the board and chief executive officer of Koch Industries.

By all accounts Cuba has an anti-gay past to reckon with like most nations. But that has little to do with Che.

I agree. I want to add this (old)reddit thread in r/AskHistorians about 'Was it the truth behind the critical controversy surrounding Che Guevara? Was Che a murderer, a homophobe, and racist who needs to be viewed much more critically?', it's a better and less biased source than the reactionary Cato Institute article.
