It doesn't matter either way at this point. The blue ocean event is imminent (2027 is the latest prediction) and even if we somehow ended all industry, animal agriculture, fossil fuel use and capitalism today- there's still over 8 billion people in the world and we're going to be well out of fresh water by the end of the decade and arable land soon after.
People ignoring climate collapse is probably for the best, there's nothing we can do now anyway.
