“Ukrainians know best how to defend their homeland,” says Canadian defense department.

Ukraine can use Canadian tanks and missiles in its ongoing special military operation on Russia soil, Ottawa said.

Canada places no geographic restrictions on the use of military equipment it has donated and continues to donate to Ukraine, Andrée-Anne Poulin, Canadian defense department spokesperson, told POLITICO in an email on Friday.

“Ukrainians know best how to defend their homeland, and we’re committed to supporting their capacity,” Poulin added. “Canada steadfastly supports Ukraine’s right to defend itself against Russia’s illegal and unjustifiable war — and that is why we have committed over $4 billion in military assistance to Ukraine.”

There were rules, like EULA, of how they can use these weapons placed by each exporter, for political reasons. Canada's official specify that it's about their batch of supplies. This doesn't affect weapons from Sweden or France, only their. - that's important to say, but it's not the point. The point is they show support by doing it now in public to the current offensive that initially shocked most, but now is openly protested only by Russia. We may as well not know the whole story and this was allowed before, but now it's a support of drastic counter-measures Ukraine does that were previously unimaginable.
