I’ve stayed away from matrix because the flagship node is Cloudflared. It demonstrates competency issues by those behind the tech. There is a disconnect between what they claim to stand for and their ops. Matrix is supposedly decentralised but whenever I am invited to a matrix room it is on the Cloudflared flagship instance. If people using it don’t even grasp the optics issues then they are essentially in a different league.
