I was feeling a bit antsy and there wasn't a thread yet at 22 past midnight.

Have a great day everyone. May you and the animals of the DT who like sunbathing get some sun.

The Daily Chair. I've been working on the second chair and am going to put on the cover this evening. In the meantime I'm waiting for the weather to warm up a little so I can finish staining the the wood chairs. Here's a preview of the first with just one coat of stain and varnish, the seat is removeable. I think it looks not too bad.

spoiler

I think it looks lovely um but just one little thing, you have a bird there on the right with no head. Why?

the head is on another piece of fabric , you can see it if you look close. It looks too odd?

I could always change it , could take off the cover and resew a bit

Hehe! I attempted not lopping off bird heads on my patchwork, but at a point it becomes unavoidable. Birds just aren’t square.

I'm making a big matching scatter cushion so it will cover the weirdness a bit

also, I sat on it and it didn't break , i was so worried it wasn't strong enough

I only noticed it because I do quilting but if you had a guest pull out the chair to sit down I doubt they'd notice it so I wouldn't change it.

The colours and the wood stain look so beautiful together I'd be really proud.

You could always appliquΓ© a head on, so that it overlaps the square where the head should be

Nevermind the head, just a googly eye. Except if it a sitting on bit.

[–] Seagoon_@aussie.zone 2 points 3 months ago (1 children)

maybe I could sew googly eyes on πŸ˜€

@Seagoon_ @Catfish I'm just generally impressed by your handywork! ☺️

(It's seriously a million times better than I could ever hope to do. You're far more talented than I! ☺️)

Almost done… stay on target …

[–] Seagoon_@aussie.zone 2 points 3 months ago (1 children)

the head is just on another square

I think it looks great as is - you’ve done an amazing job!
