I don't think cows are special, even though they do contain important energy/data systems that can transfer to beliefs.

A cow is probably cheaper (also 1 death for five hundred meals vs so many for almost anything else, even wheat)

Yeah. Plenty of foods are fine to eat for energy, especially pure and clean ones. Hospitals should be mostly safe.
