It’s worth asking again: For whom is this iteration of J.D. Vance designed? It is not so clear now. He is, in many ways, tailor-made to appeal to right-wing Silicon Valley venture capitalists. His benefactor and occasional puppet master, Peter Thiel, is certainly in his corner…

I think this touches on what may have been the deciding factor and why Trump won’t replace him - he needs the money. Win or lose, Trump has been bleeding cash for a while now and I suspect can’t raise more cash from what’s worked in the past. Enter Thiel with his wind-up Conserva-tron 2000 and bags of money. Even without Biden dropping out, Vance only ever meant more money in Trump’s coffers and whenever questioning Trump’s motivations, greed should always be the first guess.

If Vance gets dropped, it's because Thiel decides to drop him. In contrast to Donnie Poopypants, he's not a total moron.
