Natural dyes derived from mushrooms offer a sustainable and eco-friendly alternative to synthetic dyes, which are often harmful to the environment and human health. Using mushrooms as a source of natural colorants can produce a wide range of hues, from earthy browns to vibrant reds and yellows.

I was thinking the dyes could be injected into printer cartridges. But I have to question the eco-friendliness of simmering water for an hour to extract the dye.

I’m also considering trying to make printer ink using spent coffee and tea, and wonder if I can avoid boiling just by letting it cold brew a long time.

That would be really impressive and super useful. Funny thing is that I have heard about 3D printing of mycelia, but not of mushroom dyes for printing cartridges, and the former sounds much harder than the latter, at least to me. If you find out more about this please share, I'll definitely keep an eye out for relevant articles, videos and stuff.
