It's been ages but I remember Funtoo as a kinda quirky, opinionated (I think/hope that's the right term? ๐Ÿ˜… ) fork/offshoot of Gentoo by Gentoo's originator that was intended to do things in ways deemed more sensible and allow more authority by the user. The only specific thing I remember is they dumped systemd or at least allowed building a system that didn't use it.* ๐Ÿคท I only tried it once and not for long so that's all I've got, sorry ๐Ÿ˜…

* Very bad memory on my part, should probably have just said something something systemd or such ๐Ÿ˜…

That's essentially it, but Gentoo has never required systemd.

Hmm. Fears of it being required? Irritation at it being the default? I'm sure there was something ๐Ÿ˜… Ugh, now I'm embarrassed and feel like a fake Gentooer v.v

Wikipedia says Funtoo doesn't even support systemd ๐Ÿค” I guess that was it. ... Kinda weird to not support it at all but whatever, I guess. Gentoo take me baaaack ๐Ÿฅบ ... When I've got a system that won't melt if I try to build anything on it ๐Ÿ˜
