We have yet to win a game and the team is eager for that to change. What will the outcome be?

This is, by far, one of my most proud moments as a father (VS Gals around 2013)

After missing out on the division title by just one point last season, Ballard FC were eager to grab their first division championship this season and clinched with two league matches remaining.

No real surprises here

In the wild double handball sequence, Christina Unkel agrees that the first should have been a handling offense. Surprising none of us and just like @overly_sarcastic@lemmy.world predicted in the match thread.

But: three points are three points!

Obviously nothing beats The Save, but what a luxury to have a backup goalkeeper like Cleveland!

Chú is the second Sounder to be named MLS Player of the Matchday this season, joining Jordan Morris (Matchday 5).

Beautiful little 10 minute mini-doc on Peter Kingston, one of the top players on the team, and Lesia Thetsane, Ballard team captain and Lesotho senior international team player.

If you haven't been to a Ballard FC game yet you should definitely check it out. They are tons of fun and the team is quite good (one of the best in USL2).

With his start last night, Nouhou became the Sounders' all time leader in appearances by a defender, passing Chad Marshall! And he's only just turned 26!

(The Sounder at Heart article and Schmetzer in his postgame comments both pointed it out, but said he was the leader in starts. I'm pretty sure it's appearances, though, based on the fbref pages for Chad and Nouhou).

Rough match for the Reign. Fishlock down again early; too many international break absences leading to disjointed play and a total lack of connection between the lines. These last few matches have really been a slog, compared to the usual free flowing play. Looking forward to the World Cup and then to getting our players back...

Really feel for Rowe... What a bummer. Sounds like a pretty bad quad injury.

So the Sounders just picked up $150k in GAM for international roster spot #5 and are getting Alex back as Guatemala's been bounced from the Gold Cup.

Thoughts on how to set up for the next few months? I think Cody Baker's been playing really well - first saw him at Starfire in the USOC game and he was an immediate standout, and he seems to have earned some playing time. Try Alex up a line in the midfield with Cristian still at the Gold Cup? He's played there for Guatemala in the past. Or move Baker to the bench and see if the free-roaming Nico "winger" experiment works better with Alex providing consistent width up the flank?

Sounders seem pretty tight against the salary cap, but would you try to unload anyone / make any acquisitions in the summer transfer window? Or try to stand pat until Jordan & Cristian come back?

Sounders have VAN (7/9), SJ (7/12), and DAL (7/15) left until Leagues' Cup. Somehow, we're #2 in the West (though LAFC and STL both have a game in hand). Thoughts on the approach to the League's cup? Should we be fielding as close to a first-choice lineup as possible, or should we be playing the kids?

I can't link it here due to ongoing Twitter nonsense, but the video embedded in this article is 🔥🔥🔥. Leo's primal scream, Albert's yell and then shocked face as he gets mobbed, Nouhou jump-dabbing (?) into the frame, and then AB jumping in to pump up ECS. What a great moment.
