Hey everyone,

I'm creating a Flashback Series on PoE 1 and am currently on the Forsaken Masters episode. I have a few builds in my back pocket to highlight during it, but I'd love to get a bit of community insight from players who were around back then and are here now before finalizing. Old forum posts only help so much!

Does anyone have some popular builds I could explore?

Path of Exile and Path of Exile 2's campaigns will boast drastically different boss design. Every single time we've seen a boss battle in POE 2, it's an absolute banger, slamming almost every PoE 1 boss to the ground. Of course, that also means once PoE 2 launches, we'll likely be getting lots of these bosses in the endgame of Path of Exile with the map system, changing what might be a pissed off rhoa into a bell-wielding, massive humanoid crow monster. Here's a collection of some of the bosses we've seen in Path of Exile 2 compared to Path of Exile 1's campaign, helping us expectation set what we'll be seeing incredibly soon.

Thanks for watching everyone -- truly appreciate the support and growth we've had in the past month. To much more in the future!!

I have long been a fan of the Dex-Stacking wander archetype, and was rather disappointed when wands didn't get the 1-3 per Dex mod for the crucible tree. Regardless, I made due with the 25% implicit modifier magnitude, which gives us 2-5 instead of 2-4.

The expensive part of this wand is going to be the crucible tree and the implicits, especially considering the price of Imprint Beasts (Craicic Chimerals) this league.

Making the explicits is more simple. Making the prefix you Woe Essence spamming till t1 WED, lock prefixes and aisling and hope you get a prefix to try and unveil Elemental Pen.

Suffixes are a little more expensive since you can't guarantee the save of Attack speed if you don't get t1 proj speed, but still simple. Just prefix lock -> aug speed till t1 of either mod, prefix lock -> aug speed again and hope you don't snipe off the other speed mod in the process of getting t1.

Once I saw the crucible trees I knew I had to make this wand this league. I know Dex-Stacking on wands isn't the most popular archetype out there, but I felt I'd be doing what few of us there are a disservice if I didn't do my best to make this wand.

Hello folks,

This time I opted to run some simulacrums. Initially, I wanted to do 300, but as I did more and more, it started to feel absolutely dull with all of the gray.

The short video summarizes the investment and profits, but I'll add here that the profit ended up coming to 4.8d/h without including split personalities, megalomaniacs, and voices (5 was the best I got).

My next project has already been started, and it is doing flawless chayula at least 200 times. Let's see if I have the patience to do 300 this time. If you want to see these live, feel free to visit me at https://www.twitch.tv/toiletofgold.

Hope everyone is enjoying the league!

This is ridiculous. You do not represent the community. I swear the wast majority of subreddit users do not care about your stupid protest at all.

Hi guys!

Just want to get the mods opinions on when/whether the subreddit will be reopening. Ive noticed large swaths of subreddits giving up and many very large subreddits included in that

Personally ill just say that i was never in favour of the blackout at all because this was obviously going to happen, and i was especially not okay with the path of exile subreddits indefinite closure. Ill just make that clear so everyone reading knows!

But yes, this isnt meant to be a whine post or anything i do just want to know where the mods are at currently because all the small gaming subreddits i usually browse are back up but poe is not, and theres legitimate large scale poe hype coming on the horizon with poe2 so i sure would love to just have the subreddit back despite all its glaring flaws

Of course the active posters here are probably in favour of using this website because they love the concept of migrating to an open solution or whatever, but im more asking the people in charge if this is actually going to be a permanent solution or not

Hi all,

The subreddit is still down (more on that soon) as part of the widespread protests against Reddit's changes. While the official pathofexile forums and the /r/pathofexile discord are still available for questions, guides and community chat, the most common modmail we've gotten during this week has been people asking to see specific threads on the subreddit which contain useful game information. We've been working on a workaround for the community.

How to use it

Here's an example. You're on Google searching for "poe how to sustain maps", the first result will be this link, which shows the subreddit private page https://www.reddit.com/r/pathofexile/comments/x4ot0f/how_the_heck_are_people_managing_to_sustain_maps/

Now, you can take any link like that, and add poe before reddit.com, and see the submission and comments, for example: https://www.poereddit.com/r/pathofexile/comments/x4ot0f/how_the_heck_are_people_managing_to_sustain_maps/

Image Preview

Caveats:

  • The amount of comments/submissions in the PoE sub is huge, so we are only able to store text. Links to videos and images work, but a native reddit video for example would not.
  • Data is only present up through March 31st, 2023. Data beyond that is significantly harder to bulk submit, but we're working on it.
  • If a user has opted out of data collection on reddit via pushshift, their comments/submissions are not present. All user information was stripped out of this mirror though
  • This index includes deleted posts, so if you're browsing the index page of the site, you'll see posts that say deleted. That's because they are.
  • Comments are unsorted, you may need to scroll down on the page to view comments with interesting replies
How is this accomplished:

We downloaded all the comments and the submissions from Pushshift, an open copy of reddit's content, and put them into a database using a tool called Redarc

TLDR: When you find a reddit.com/r/pathofexile/foo link, change it to poereddit.com/r/pathofexile/foo to see the posts and comments

Hopefully this is useful to people, we've been sending it as a reply to modmails asking to see subreddit threads

Wishing ya'll a good weekend, Multi

Two weapons are confirmed for Path of Exile 2, but the way they're designed could mean absolutely massive changes for the Path of Exile weapon system as a whole. PoE hasn't seen a new weapon class introduced in many years, since sceptres were added, and with the introduction of spears and crossbows, we are either seeing these as incredibly special weapon classes in PoE...or everything is about to change.

What do you think? Will we see more? Scythes? Flails? Whips? Actual unarmed as an option??? We'll see soon!

Hi all, I want to share a mini-project I completed recently.

Path of Exile: Random Map Survival Challenge

~This product isn't affiliated with or endorsed by Grinding Gear Games in any way.~

This is a proof of concept in adapting a plugin from Trackmania into Path of Exile.

How It Works

You are given 10 minutes on the timer and sets of randomized maps. Your goal is to clear as many maps as possible before the timer runs out. Upon clearing a map ("20 or less monsters remain."), 1 minute 15 seconds is added back (capped at the maximum) to your timer. You can skip a map at the cost of 1 minute of the maximum timer.

This isn't everyone's cup of tea but hopefully it hits the spot for some few of you exiles who's got the zoomies and itch to chase rankings on a leaderboard.

Best enjoyed in Standard or at the end of league with a full map stash tab.

cross-posted from: https://lemmy.blahaj.zone/post/61827

Hello! Friendly neighbor over at sh.itjust.works popping in to lend a hand. Here's a very useful set of instructions and tips that have been floating about, I hope you find it useful too.

You can ignore the "How to Join Lemmy" part if you're already happily set up on pathofexile-discuss.com, but the rest'll still be useful.

(These instructions are for using Lemmy in a browser. If you are using an app, some steps may differ.)

How to Join Lemmy

To use Lemmy, you need to be a member of one instance from the list at https://join-lemmy.org/instances. You will still be able to see content from anywhere, but the instance you choose will determine:

  • What URL you use to log in to Lemmy,
  • What content shows on the homepage when you select "Local" or "All",
  • Who moderates your instance, and
  • What rules you agree to when you sign up.

Choose an instance that matches your interests, language, and region. (If you want more information about an instance, you can tap its "Join" button, which will show you its current homepage in the main view and its description in the sidebar. You can also check the tables here and here.) Please avoid joining instances that are already crowded (1K+ users/month). If an instance gets overcrowded, it can start running slowly or experiencing downtime, so choosing an uncrowded instance will give both you and others a better Lemmy experience.

Once you have decided on an instance, tap its "Join" button to open it and then tap "Sign Up" in the upper-right corner. Fill out the form and wait for your account to be approved.

When your account is approved, log in and customize your profile and settings. If you change your language settings, select "Undetermined" in addition to any languages you speak so that you can still see posts and comments that are not tagged as being in any particular language.

How to Find and Subscribe to Communities

There are four ways to find communities through Lemmy:

  1. To browse communities that others in your instance are already subscribed to, tap the "Communities" tab at the top of the page and choose the "All" scope. Tapping on a community name will open it through your instance.

  2. To browse communities across all instances, visit https://browse.feddit.de/. Tapping on the community's name will open it, but probably not through your instance (in which case the page will say that you are not logged in). Instead, follow these steps:

    a. Copy the community's URL or remote name. You can use the copy button next to the community name, you can open the community outside your instance and copy the URL from your address bar, or you can open the community outside your instance and copy the remote name (which will look like [!community@instance.tld](/c/community@instance.tld)) from the sidebar.

    b. In your instance, tap on the "๐Ÿ” Search" button in the upper toolbar.

    c. Make sure that you have chosen "All" for each of the four filters: "Type", "Scope", "Community", and "Creator".

    d. Paste the community's URL or remote name into the search field and tap "Search".

    e. One of the results should be the community shown as an icon, a name, and a subscriber count. If you do not see it, or it is buried too deep in the search results, try changing "Scope" to "Local". If that does not work, you may need to wait a bit and try again.

    f. Tap on the community in the search results to open it in your instance.

  3. If you want an experience similar to Reddit's r/all, visit https://lemmy.directory/home/data_type/Post/listing_type/All/sort/Hot/page/1, which aggregates from these communities as described here. As in Option 2, you can copy and search for a community's URL to open it in your instance and subscribe to it.

  4. If you don't see a community by browsing, subscribe to https://lemmy.ml/c/findacommunity and make a post about what you're looking for.

Once a community is open in your instance, subscribe to it by tapping on the "Subscribe" button at the top of the sidebar. It will then appear in the "Subscribed" section of your "Communities" tab, and its posts will show on your home feeds.

Can't find a community you're looking for? If your instance allows it, you can create the community yourself by tapping "Create Community" in the upper toolbar.

The simple version of that wall of text is if you're the first person on your instance to subscribe to a community:

  1. Get the URL (for example, https://lemmy.ml/c/lemmy)

  2. Go to the Communities page

  3. Search for that URL

  4. Change all search options to "All" (even "Communities")

  5. Click the federated link it gives you (for example, https://pathofexile-discuss.com/c/lemmy@lemmy.ml)

  6. Click subscribe

Also, there's a new project for finding communities across instances! lemmyverse.net is a REALLY cool and easy way to find communities that you might want to subscribe to!

I'm curious, what would it take to to get this build to wave 30 comfortably?

So far, I've made it to wave 15 in the Simulacrum before I get 3-shot into oblivion, and I'm only really having trouble doing T14-T16 rare red maps outside of that. Inside the sim, I can't tell what's killing me but it feels like I'm getting stunned.

Any advice?

https://www.macrumors.com/2023/06/15/reddit-threatens-to-remove-subreddit-moderators/

Reddit: If a moderator team unanimously decides to stop moderating, we will invite new, active moderators to keep these spaces open and accessible to users. If there is no consensus, but at least one mod wants to keep the community going, we will respect their decisions and remove those who no longer want to moderate from the mod team.

Based on this, it's very possible that the Path of Exile subreddit will end up being assigned to some other group of people than the current set

This might be due to statements from advertisers that they would stop paying for reddit ads if the blackout lasted longer

https://www.adweek.com/social-marketing/ripples-through-reddit-as-advertisers-weather-moderators-strike/

Campaigns have notched slightly lower impression delivery and consequently, slightly higher CPMs, over the days of the blackout, Johnson said. If the performance weakness continues for a week or two, the agency would start recommending decreasing spend with Reddit or directing it to other platforms.

I don't know what this means right now for the community. Not everyone has had a chance to respond in the mod team yet, but so far, it looks to be strongly in favor of not opening the subreddit as a result of reddit saying this. The general consensus is that Reddit won't be able to / won't actually choose to replace many thousands of mods.

As I'm sure you have already seen this latest edit provides some info about moderation tools. I'm no mod so I'm asking, is this a change you hoped to achieve, concerning moderation tools? I know the paid API thing is still there, but besides that, are these good news if they follow up on them?

Hey all, Coming from Reddit, read the pinned thread about lack of interaction, so here's my contribution.

I started league with RF jugg and managed to complete the atlas (first time since playing for years), I invested like 5 div on the gear and but after a bad chroma roll now my gloves are unusable, so I'm using this as an excuse to start a new character.

Can you guys recommend me a build that is able to clear all content, Uber and stuff on a budget? I'm still missing 2 void stones, the maven one and the Uber elder (I think?)

I was eyeing lighting arrow or flicker strike but they seem high cost, but as long as the clear speed and the bossing is good, I'm fine with anything, if possible it would be better if it's just one main skill and not something like a map clearing skill and a bossing skill.

Thanks in advance!

The series continues with the official launch of PoE! Diving into the end of Act III, the Scion, Domination & Nemesis leagues, and much more, I'm looking to gaze into the past of PoE in the lead-up to PoE 2.

Join me and let me know your thoughts about the idea, series, and when you may have joined PoE. Were you an exile in the distant past when PoE 1.0 hit the world on October 23, 2013?
