I've decided to add my Xedra Evolved Starter guide to our lemmy and hope that others will add their various guides that they've created. I'll try and work on updating it as well as more content is added.

If you want to become a vampire you first need to go to a place where moroi and strigoi can be found, while they can be found in lots of locations the most common places to find them are currently variant cathedrals and hunting lodges. Once you find them you need to fight one until you are grabbed, then bitten and the bite is followed by text about a feeling like backwash into your veins.

About 24 hours after that you will learn a spell that allows you to consume blood. Human, mutant human or demihuman blood. No animal substitutes. You will receive various messages about needing blood if you are running out of stolen blood in your veins and slowly move towards starvation.

You'll gain a couple more abilities over the next twenty-four to forty-eight hours. You can access the mutation menu to use activated mutations by pressing [. If you survive for long enough you will reach other stages of vampirism over the course of weeks assuming you don't make use of the homemade blood treatment to slow and reverse the transformation.

At some point in your transformation you will start suffering some bad effects from sunlight. These will get progressively worse as you progress through further stages.

Due to life circumstances I haven't been able to play or follow development closely since a few months after G stable. Any interesting developments in H-experimental?

I was roaming around a field, there was a dairy farm and I was checking it's surroundings. There was some whumping behind the fence, but I thought maybe a zombie or two (I had machete that I crafted)

But suddenly the fence goes down.. And 3 zombie cows are there. They are faster than me :(

What is the best thing to do in this situation? I don't want to die just after reaching mettalurgy.

In celebration of reddit's impending implosion, @bombasticSlacks has created @dda_discussion (a lemmy instance) to host discussion of development and play of Cataclysm: Dark Days Ahead.

This post is aimed at folks viewing posts on this community and that would like to participate

Having communities spread across different instances of Lemmy makes it pretty unintuitive (IMO) to participate in DDA discussions from outside this instance. And since signups are disabled for this instance, you'll have to sign up with another instance (check out https://join-lemmy.org/instances). So with that, I figured I'd write this out for folks who are lost in the fediverse :P

  1. Choose an instance and create an account. Some instances require answering an application question, while others just require solving a captcha. Choose an instance that appeals to you and create your account. I'd say the most popular instance would be lemmy.ml, for example.

  2. Log in to your instance and search for the DDA community. Once you're logged into your instance, you can copy this url https://cdda.social/c/dda_discussion and paste it into the generic search field of your instance. Press search and wait a bit. Even if it shows "No results", it'll turn up the community eventually, which you can click on and subscribe.

  3. View and post stuff in DDA discussions. Once you're subscribed, you can view your subscribed communities in the "communities" tab in your instance. Just click on DDA discussions and participate to your heart's content :)

I was looking at a new PR that makes some nice tweaks to ISO tikeset handling (upper left screenshot) and decided to compare it to some other tilesets, and I'm just blown away by how different the options are.
