I was using Spotiflyer for a while because it worked well and was available through F-Droid but it seems like the creator has moved on to an app called SoundBound that I haven't seen in the megathread or any of the other sites listed in the Other Treasures section.

I was wondering if there is a different Android app people are recommending for downloading MP3s of Spotify playlists. I am indifferent towards audio quality and don't mind missing out on a few Spotify-exclusive songs so if it is using YouTube MP3s that's fine with me.

Used to use spowlo, don't know why I switched to soundbound but it works the same and gets good enough audio for my phone. Zotify on desktop.

Spotube can do what you describe

Spotube and libretube, they both down load ive only ever used the downloaded content within app and am unsure of they're respective formats

Spotube uses m4a as a format and doesn't always get it right as it basically just searches the song on YouTube

You can configure newpipe to download in the youtube music revanced app.

It may be useful for someone passing by.

What about using soundbound instead?

[–] CorrodedCranium@leminal.space 2 points 7 months ago (1 children)

I was considering it. I've had the occasional issue with Spotiflyer crashing when multiple playlists are queued for download so I was considering what else is available; I wasn't sure if SoundBound would have the same issues.

Have you tried out SoundBound? Would you recommend it? Based off of the screenshots it seems pretty similar to Spotiflyer.

SoundBound it's pretty good, currently I'm using YTDLnis for my needs but it doesn't download from Spotify.

Deezloader or Harmony Music

Genuine question: Spotify TO YouTube? I'm trying hard and not coming up with a use-case 🤔

Or is it just "Spotify or YouTube"?

[–] CorrodedCranium@leminal.space 1 points 7 months ago (1 children)

It is TO.

I am indifferent towards audio quality and don’t mind missing out on a few Spotify-exclusive songs so if it is using YouTube MP3s that’s fine with me.

Is what it says in the text below my post. A lot of apps out there that download Spotify playlists pair songs with ones on Youtube to download them for simplicity. Similarly some people migrate those playlists to Deezer and download them.

From my understanding it comes down to Spotify's DRM being a little harder to bypass.

Thanks! I misunderstood completely, thought you were downloading from Spotify and uploading to YouTube 😅

[–] Vigilante@lemmy.today 1 points 7 months ago

I just download music videos as m4a (audio file format) from pipepipe (better youtube client) .
