A community aquaponic greenhouse system composed of two 200 square meter foil tunnel greenhouses has been opened. The system, has been built in the context of the EU H2020 funded proGIreg project.

The main focus of this setup is the research on an alternative business model that aims for renting the rafts to the users instead of marketing the products.

The two greenhouse setup allows for working on other research topics also, where one system acts as the experiment and the other serves as control.

The system is going to be operated by the South Westfalia University of Applied Sciences (FH-SWF) at least until the end of 2027. The setup is going to be an integral part of the international gardening exhibition (IGA 2027).
